Solid passenger growth continues at PIA Adem Jashari
During the second quarter of 2012 Prishtina International Airport Adem Jashari saw continued solid growth in the number of passengers.
In April there was an increase of 7% compared to the same period last year with number of passengers being 119,484, in May there was an increase of 10% and nominal number of passengers at 114,140 , in June the increase was also 10% with a nominal number of passengers being 131,983.
In the first half of the year, passenger traffic has increased 7% compared to the same period last year.
The number of operations during the three months of the second quarter was -2, 4 and 5% respectively. The number of operations during the first six months was 1% higher than last year. Cargo traffic during the year to June decreased by 2%.
The number of operations during this period was 3,072.
Companies with the most passengers in descending order were Germanwings, Edelweiss, Belle Air Europe, Adria Airways, Belair, Easyjet, Austrian Airlines and Turkish Airlines, all with over 45,000 passengers served. Destinations with the most passengers carried in the first half of the year were Zurich with 130,988, followed by the two Istanbul airports with a total of 68,812 passengers, Munich with 57,834, Dusseldorf with 56,679 and Vienna with 54,992.

Competition in between airlines increases, Lufthansa enters in Prishtina Airport
Competition in between airlines is expected to take place in regard to the German and Italian flight market where the biggest part of our compatriots is concentrated, a market not quite exploited yet.
Biggest notable newness related to the next year’s summer season, which commences in March, are entry in market, for the very first time, of the biggest German and European airline ‘Lufthansa’, with 4 scheduled flights from the city of Düsseldorf and flights of the Slovenian airline ‘Adria Airways’ expected to start with 5 flights per day to the different German cities.
Increase in flight number is also expected by another giant ‘British Airways’ with 6 direct flights a week to London, ‘Easy Jet’ with minimum of 5 scheduled flights a week and 7 flights in the peak season, and ‘Malev’ expected to double its flights from current 7 to 14 flights during a week, etc. Read more…

Airport rises in category landings with only 300 meters visibility

Pristina International Airport reached 1 million passangers in September
This statistic represents an increase of over 85 thousand passengers, or in percentage nearly 10 percent more to this nine-month period.
